Enterprise Creative, an organization focused on building capacity in the Nigerian creative sector, is set to host the first Annual Creative Careers Fair from the 15th to 16th of July at the Lagos City Hall, Lagos. Sesema Public Relations will join other companies to exhibit in the Fair, which is the first career fair in Nigeria, focusing on the creative industries such as TV, Film, Advertising, Radio, Publishing, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Digital Media, Journalism and Public Relations. The Fair will feature practical workshops, seminars, and an exhibition of different companies showcasing their services and employment opportunities.
The two-day fair is expected to attract three thousand visitors which include people working in different creative industries, career changers looking to enter the creative industries, new graduates and students in tertiary institutions. Addressing those at this event will be more than thirty speakers from leading companies in Nigeria. Included is Ms Alima Atta, Managing Director, Sesema PR who will speak on public relations as a career and the skills required to be the best practitioner.
According to the initiator of the project, Ms Nkiru Asika, Founder & CEO of Enterprise Creative, “The creative career fair is an opportunity for employers and job seekers in the creative industry to network and explore full-time and freelance opportunities. It is also an opportunity for visitors to learn about different sectors of the creative industry.”
Nkiru Asika is also the director of media consultancy OutSourceMedia, a director at foremost entertainment company Storm 360, and an award-winning journalist and TV producer of productions such as Big Brother Nigeria, The Apprentice Africa and NaijaSings.
Sesema PR will participate in the exhibition and host a two hour practical PR workshop during the career fair. The focus of the workshop includes but is not limited to - writing a press release that will grab journalists' attention, developing a public relations campaign and strategy.
